Clyde Robert “Bob” Rose

Clyde Robert “Bob” Rose, 75, of Lebanon died Sunday, October 28, 2018 in Cedar Haven Nursing Home, Lebanon.

Born in Shelbyville, Illinois he was the son of the late Robert and Lorna Hudson Rose. He was a graduate of Shelbyville, IL High School, obtained Bachelor and Master degrees in music from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL and was awarded his Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN.

Bob was a US Marine Corp veteran of the Vietnam War and played clarinet in “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in Washington, DC for four years.

During his university teaching years, he taught in the music departments of: Concord University, Athens, WV; Otterbein University, Westerville, OH; Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, IN; and at Lebanon Valley College, Annville, PA. As a second career, he was a truck driver for AWI, Robesonia.

Surviving are two sons Bryan Robert Rose of Lebanon, PA, Phillip Henry Rose of Harrisburg, PA, and his former wife Karyn Tuxhorn Rose, Annville, PA.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main Street, Annville. A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family in Shelbyville, IL. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603 or the Lebanon Rescue Mission, 1223 Bitner Blvd., Lebanon, PA 17046 in his memory.
