The United Way of Lebanon County held a campaign kickoff breakfast Friday morning at Lebanon High School, officially opening the 2019-20 fundraising season.

The United Way of Lebanon County welcomed new CEO Brooke Smith at the event, an appointment announced late last month. Smith’s first official day on the job was August 12.

Recently installed United Way of Lebanon County CEO Brooke Smith and board member Ron Stohler pose for a photograph following the event. Stohler served as the organization’s interim Executive Director following the resignation of Kenny Montijo, who had led the organization for five years.

The 2019-20 campaign goal is $1.5 million. During the previous annual campaign, the United Way of Lebanon County raised $1.7 million, just shy of its $1.75 million goal.

The event was sponsored by Henise Tire Service, with WellSpan Health as this year’s premiere campaign sponsor and Penn State Health providing ongoing support as well.

Quest, Inc. employment coordinator Mike Barnhart and executive director Verna Morris showcased a vendor table during the event. Quest, Inc offers services to people with disabilities including occupational training, extended industrial training, job placement, and employment services.
One of this year’s incentive prizes will be a 2020 Hyundai Accent. The grand prize is sponsored by Ebersole, Klick Lewis, and Ladd Hanford. This year, the car comes from Ebersole.
