Sean Sykes, 28, of Harrisburg, was arrested yesterday in connection with a shooting that took place inside a Lebanon residence back in January.

After police responded to the incident on January 19, police arrested two suspects, but the third suspect—Sykes—managed to elude them.

Lebanon’s Wilfredo Lao was injured in the shooting, and a fundraiser was held for him in the weeks following the January incident.

The U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force apprehended Sykes without incident at a home on the 100 block of East Cottage Place in York. Sykes is being charged with Attempt – Criminal Homicide, Aggravated Assault and lesser included offenses.

In a press release, U.S. Marshall Martin J. Payne stated, “Crimes of violence are of the highest priority for the Fugitive Task Force. The Marshals Service and our partners recognize the importance of bringing those charged with such crimes to justice. It is my sincere hope that the arrest of this fugitive brings some sense of relief to the community.”

Sykes was turned over to York County Sheriff’s Office Central Booking Unit to await return to Lebanon County.

The USMS Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 20 state, county and local police agencies, including: the Harrisburg Bureau of Police; the York City Police Department; the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole; the York County Sheriff’s Office; the York County District Attorney’s Office; and, the Northern York County Regional Police Department. According to a release, all agencies listed participated in the investigation.
