A man fell out of his boat while fishing yesterday morning at Stoever’s Dam Park and needed to be rescued by first responders.

The man was witnessed falling into the lake by bystanders at the park, who contacted 911. The city-owned park straddles the border of North Lebanon Township.

In addition to the Lebanon Fire Department, Keystone of Myerstown responded with a boat, as did the Lebanon hazmat team. Weavertown also responded.

After being rescued, the man didn’t appear to be in acute distress and was transported to a local hospital by First Aid & Safety Patrol.

Lebanon Fire Commissioner Duane Troutman said the man may have been in the water 30-40 minutes.
