A Jonestown woman is incarcerated again today after she was discovered with meth and heroin during a traffic stop yesterday in Union Township.
Julie Keller, a 44 year old Jonestown woman, was stopped by Pennsylvania State Police for a traffic violation at the intersection of Allentown Boulevard and Hill Drive around 1pm yesterday. During the stop, the woman is alleged to have shown signs of impairment.
After she granted consent to a vehicle search, a meth pipe was discovered and Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were conducted. The woman was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia, upon which point a search was conducted and a baggy of meth and multiple baggies of heroin were discovered. The woman was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for a blood draw.
State Police say that the woman was one of four actors arrested in September for involvement in a drug trafficking ring operating out of Lebanon County Correctional Facility. Keller was out on $100,000 monetary bail for that investigation at the time of this stop. According to earlier reports, prior to being caught, Keller helped supply her incarcerated son with drugs that he then distributed within the prison.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for next Thursday in front of Magisterial District Judge John W. Ditzler.
