One of Lebanon’s most beloved restaurants will serve its last meals this Sunday.

Yesterday Inn 422 proprietors Chrystal and Scott Aungst formally announced that this weekend would mark the end of their 25 year journey.

The property is being acquired by Caroline Lai under the auspices of Bijo Inn Corporation. Lai also owns Mikyako in Harrisburg, Wasabi in Hershey, and Masa in York. All three brands are featured under the PA Sushi moniker.

“We are looking forward to serving the Lebanon County community and the people there,” said Lai in a previous interview with LebTown. “We are very excited to be a part of the community.”

Lai would not say whether the restaurant will be sushi-focused, as her other restaurants are, or a different buyer.

Crystal previously told us that Lai is an amazing business woman and she thinks she’ll do great things for Lebanon County.

The liquor license transfer is still pending at the moment.

The real estate listing for Inn 422 was handled by national firm TRUE Commercial Real Estate, which has offices locally. The property was listed at just under one million dollars (including the business and liquor license). The property was purchased in 1999 for $350,000.

In a website update posted previously, Crystal wrote:

After 25 wonderful years in this historic building we have decided to list The Inn for sale. We will remain open, serving the same delicious food by our friendly staff, until a new owner is found. Scott and I thank you for 25 blessed years here at this location and 41 years overall serving the Lebanon County. It has been our pleasure and greatest joy being a part of this remarkable community. However after years of 80 plus hours in our work week we are looking forward to retirement. I am hoping to see you around the Inn in the near future and once more.

  1. We have enjoyed and made many memories at INN 422 since we moved back to the area 12 1/2 years ago. Thank you for the wonderful food and relaxation for Christmas Parties, Anniversary Celebrations, Mother’s Day and Birthday times with family and friends.
