In a press release distributed yesterday, Daniel K. Bost announced that he will be seeking a full term as Lebanon County Recorder of Deeds.
Bost entered the position as an appointee after Recorder of Deeds Donna Lutz retired, an announcement she made at the April 2018 meeting of the County Commissioners:
According to the release, Bost had been officially nominated to replace Lutz by Governor Tom Wolf , and was then confirmed unanimously by the State Senate. In the release, Bost is quoted as thanking State Senator Mike Folmer for his support in the nomination process.
“Senator Folmer’s trust in my talent and expertise enables me to effectively serve in the best interests of Lebanon County taxpayers,” said Bost in the press release which cites his background as a federal and state certified loan origination as qualifications for the role.
“As a businessman who works in the real estate industry, I know first-hand the importance of the Recorder of Deeds Office.”
The Recorder of Deeds is responsible for processing and filing records related to real estate transactions.
Lutz was elected to her fifth and final four-year-term in 2015, beating Democrat Michael Deitz by a 2:1 margin.
While it’s still possible Bost could face a primary challenger, given his party support it seems likely that he will advance uncontested to the general election, to be held November 5, 2019.
