Historic Schaefferstown is set to host its 50th annual Harvest Fair on the weekend of September 15-16 at the historic Schaeffer Farm in eastern Lebanon County.

Schaeffer Farm
213 S. Carpenter St
Saturday 9/15 10am-5pm
Sunday 9/16 11:30am-4:30pm

Activities will include cake walks, apple bobbing, farming demos, farm animals, wood work/sawmill demo, colonial toys, and house & garden tours. Honestly, the list could go on and on – there will also be wagon rides, apple buttermaking, period crafts on display, and cider pressing. Plus a water pumping demo – cool for the history geeks out there as Schaefferstown is home to the oldest still-operating water system in the United States.

Musical entertainment will include Roy Justice (a singing historian known as the “Time Traveling Minstrel”) and the Holt Twins & Charmain (classic rock and folk music) on Saturday, and John Lionarons (dulcimer/hymns) on Sunday.

Admission is $5 for adults and kids over 12. The Harvest Fair will take place rain or shine.

For more hints of what to expect, check out this video Lebanon County Commissioner Jo Ellen Litz posted from last year’s fair.

Visitors are asked to leave their pets at home, as animals are not allowed by the event’s insurance policy.

If you are interested in volunteering, please call the Schaeffer Farm office at (717) 949-2244.
