Meyerstown continues its sestercentennial celebration this weekend with a full slate of activities and attractions at Meyerstown Park commemorating the rich heritage of this portion of eastern Lebanon County

Friday, August 24th 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Saturday, August 25th 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Sunday, August 26th 12:00 Noon – 5:00 PM

The event will feature food, live music, carnival rides, carnival games, craft vendors, a wine tasting, and a fireworks show on Saturday night (10pm).

In 1757, Isaac Meier purchased the land of Meyerstown from his father-in-law, who built the house that still stands along Route 501. In 1768, he began planning a village there called Tulpehocken Town, which it remained until 1760 when Meier was shot outside a local tavern and the town was renamed in his honor.

Footage will also be unveiled from a flight earlier this summer by 97-year-old World War II vet Bob Brocklehurst, a native of Meyerstown. This should give you a taste of what that’ll be like.
